Regular Season Round 20: V.Rytas - Sostines 76-45

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Vilniaus: Vilniaus Silputa (#3) and Sostines (#4). Vilniaus Silputa (17-3) smashed visiting Sostines (11-7) by 31 points 76-45. The game without a history. Vilniaus Silputa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sostines to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Vilniaus Silputa dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sostines' 26. Vilniaus Silputa forced 26 Sostines turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Augustinas Kruminis (-2) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Aras Valenta (181-2) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Vilniaus Silputa players scored in double figures. Guard Julius Vaitkus (190-2) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Deimantas Valavicius (-2) scored 13 points. Sostines' coach Tomas Purlys already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Vilniaus Silputa maintains third position with 17-3 record having just two point less than leader V.Knasiaus KM. Sostines lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Vilniaus Silputa will play against league's second-placed Panevezio on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sostines' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilniaus Vilniaus KM II.
