Very expected game in Vilnius where 9th ranked Nevezis (6-18) was crushed by third ranked Rytas (17-7) 96-75 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Rytas forced 19 Nevezis turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Nevezis' players. International Arnas Butkevicius (197-92) fired 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Center Marek Blazevic (207-1) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. DR Congolese center Viny Okouo (215-97) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Kristupas Zemaitis (192-96) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Rytas and four Nevezis players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rytas. They moved-up to second place. Nevezis lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 18 games lost. Rytas will meet bottom-ranked Dzukija (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nevezis will play against P.Zvaigzdes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
