No shocking result in a game when second ranked Braunschweig (14-3) beat on the road 10th ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (1-16) 72-62 on Saturday. It was a good game for American guard Toshua Leavitt (162-99, college: Texas St.) who led her team to a victory with 21 points. Her fellow American import power forward Laina Snyder (185, college: Ashland) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Braunschweig's coach Christian Steinwerth used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Lilli Froelich (186-3) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and the former international Lucile Peroche (174-98) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for ChemCats Chemnitz. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Braunschweig. They keep a position of North leader. ChemCats Chemnitz lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the tenth place with 16 games lost. Braunschweig will face Krofdorf (#8) in Giessen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ChemCats Chemnitz will play on the road against ALBA Berlin and hope to win that game.
