Leader Gruner Stern Keltern delivered the twenty first victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked Gisa Lions (4-17) 92-73 in Halle. They outrebounded Gisa Lions 42-28 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gruner Stern Keltern especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a good game for American center Krystal Vaughn (185-86, college: VCU) who led her team to a victory with 23 points and 7 rebounds. British power forward Shequila Joseph (190-95, college: Ole Miss) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Gruner Stern Keltern players scored in double figures. American power forward Jordan Korinek (189-96, college: Kent St.) answered with 27 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Montenegrin guard Snezana Aleksic (173-89) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Gisa Lions. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gruner Stern Keltern (21-1) have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place. Gisa Lions lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. They share it with Saarlouis. Gruner Stern Keltern will play against bottom-ranked TV Saarlouis Royals (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gisa Lions will play against BasCats Heidelberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
