Regular Season Round 29: Jena - Schwenningen 89-97

The game between third ranked Science City Jena (18-9) and ninth ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (14-14) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Science City Jena was defeated by BV Villingen-Schwenningen in a tough game in Jena 89-97. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Science City Jena. Naturalized American point guard Brad Loesing (182-89, college: Wofford) answered with 23 points and 7 assists and American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Science City Jena. Five BV Villingen-Schwenningen and four Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Science City Jena's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BV Villingen-Schwenningen have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted BV Villingen-Schwenningen maintains ninth place with 14-14 record. Science City Jena at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. BV Villingen-Schwenningen are looking forward to face higher ranked Nuernberg (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Science City Jena will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen and is hoping to win this game.
