Regular Season Round 22: Crailsheim - ALBA 91-82

Very important is a road loss of third ranked ALBA Berlin (14-5) against fourth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (15-6) on Sunday night. Visiting ALBA Berlin was defeated by Crailsheim Merlins in a tough game in Crailsheim 82-91. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ALBA Berlin. Crailsheim Merlins made 22-of-23 charity shots (95.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: GCU) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. At the losing side Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (190-94, college: LIU Brooklyn) responded with 22 points and 9 assists and American Luke Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) scored 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. ALBA Berlin's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. ALBA Berlin at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will play against league's second-placed EnBW Ludwigsburg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ALBA Berlin will play against Braunschweig and hopes to get back on the winning track.
