Very important is a road loss of third ranked ALBA Berlin (14-5) against fourth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (15-6) on Sunday night. Visiting ALBA Berlin was defeated by Crailsheim Merlins in a tough game in Crailsheim 82-91. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ALBA Berlin. Crailsheim Merlins made 22-of-23 charity shots (95.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: GCU) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. At the losing side Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (190-94, college: LIU Brooklyn) responded with 22 points and 9 assists and American Luke Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) scored 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. ALBA Berlin's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. ALBA Berlin at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will play against league's second-placed EnBW Ludwigsburg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
