Regular Season Round 20: Kretingos SM - Marijampoles 95-76

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Kretingos SM (7-10) crushed 11th ranked Marijampoles (3-15) in Kretinga 95-76. The game was mostly controlled by Kretingos SM. Marijampoles was better in fourth quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kretingos SM forced 20 Marijampoles turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kretingos SM especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Marijampoles was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Rokas Zilinskis (-2) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds and Rokas Tiskus (-3) who added 18 points during the contest. Kretingos SM's coach Vytautas Slizius allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Mantvydas Kalinauskas (185-3) responded with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Aldas Moliusis (195-2) scored 13 points. Five Kretingos SM and four Marijampoles players scored in double figures. Kretingos SM maintains eighth position with 7-10 record. Marijampoles lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Kretingos SM will play against Zalgiris II (#10) in Kaunas in the next round. Marijampoles will play on the road against Pasvalio in Pasvalys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
