Rather predictable result when third ranked Istanbul Uni (19-6) outscored at home 6th ranked Duzce Bld (14-10) 112-90. Istanbul Uni dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Duzce Bld's 36. They outrebounded Duzce Bld 75-37 including a 30-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Istanbul Uni players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Duzce Bld's players. The winners were led by point guard Derin Erdogan (168-2) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists and Canadian center Saicha Grant-Allen (196-95, college: Dayton) supported her with 13 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Istanbul Uni's coach Hande Guven felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 29 points by Ronahi Kiran (-0) did not help to save the game for Duzce Bld. Saliha Mandiraci (169-2) added 23 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Five Istanbul Uni and four Duzce Bld players scored in double figures. Istanbul Uni moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Duzce Bld keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Istanbul Uni's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Yalova Vip (#16) on the road which should be another easy win for them. Duzce Bld will play against Mersin Uni (#10) and hope to win that game.
