Regular Season Round 25: Juventus - Zalgiris 82-91

The game between Top Four teams took place in Utena. 4th placed host Juventus (13-10) lost to first ranked Zalgiris (22-2) 91-82. The guests were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 29-21 last quarter charge of Juventus cut the lead to 91-82 at the end of the game. Zalgiris players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. International point guard Rokas Jokubaitis (192-0) nailed 19 points and 8 assists for the winning side and the former international Arturas Milaknis (195-86) accounted for 20 points. Power forward Julius Jucikas (205-89, agency: Agency) came up with 20 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Agency) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Juventus in the defeat. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zalgiris have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-2 record. Juventus lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Zalgiris will play against Neptunas (#4) in Klaipeda in the next round. Juventus will play at home against Prienai CBet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
