Regular Season Round 21: V.Knasiaus KM - Zalgiris U18 107-81

U18 League top team - V.Knasiaus KM (18-1) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Zalgiris U18 (8-11) in Klaipeda 107-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Zalgiris U18. The game was mostly controlled by V.Knasiaus KM. Zalgiris U18 managed to win second period 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. V.Knasiaus KM dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris U18's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Zalgiris U18's players. The best player for the winners was forward Kasparas Jonauskas (201-2) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Justas Maceikis (198-2) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds. Five V.Knasiaus KM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Dominykas Stenionis (174-2) who recorded 30 points and 6 rebounds and guard Arminas Puisys (192-2) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. V.Knasiaus KM maintains first place with 18-1 record. Loser Zalgiris U18 dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. V.Knasiaus KM will meet at home bottom-ranked Pasvalio (#12) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Zalgiris U18 will play against the league's second-placed Vilniaus Silputa (#2) and hope to secure a win.
