Very expected game when 13th ranked Gemlik (7-16) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Bornova Bld (13-10) 85-71 on Friday. Bornova Bld looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Gemlik was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Donte Clark (194-94, college: Texas Southern, agency: Network Sports International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Eren Ocakturk (204-87) helped adding 26 points and 9 rebounds. Bornova Bld's coach Faruk Besok used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Faik Kasikci (-0) responded with 22 points and guard Serdar Yavuz (184-82) scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bornova Bld. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bandirma BK and Akhisar Bld. Gemlik at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Bornova Bld will face Akhisar Bld (#7) on the road in the next round. Gemlik will play against Mamak (#8) and hope to win that game.
