Regular Season Round 23: ITU BB - Buyukcekmece 86-63

Bottom-ranked ITU BB managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of seventeen consecutive losses. This time they outleveled fifteenth-ranked Buyukcekmece in Istanbul 86-63. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 23-point difference suggests that ITU BB is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Mehmet Yagmur (188-87) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 6 rebounds and 15 assists. American forward Cole Huff (203-94, college: Creighton, agency: Slash Sports) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Aydin Tayfur (-0) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Jeremy Saffold (198-91, college: UW-Parkside) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Buyukcekmece in the defeat. Five ITU BB and four Buyukcekmece players scored in double figures. ITU BB maintains sixteenth place with 2-21 record. Buyukcekmece lost their thirteenth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. ITU BB will play against higher ranked Bursaspor (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Buyukcekmece will play against Gaziantep (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
