Regular Season Round 23: Balikesir - Yalova Bld 102-94

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Yalova Bld (11-12) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Balikesir (11-12) 102-94 on Saturday. Balikesir dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Yalova Bld's 34. They outrebounded Yalova Bld 38-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. Balikesir looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Yalova Bld was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Myles Mack (178-93, college: Rutgers, agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 15 assists. His fellow American import center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 26 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta, agency: Interperformances) responded with 45 points (!!!) and 4 assists and guard Onur Sonsirma (190-85) scored 12 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Balikesir moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Yalova Bld. Balikesir will face higher ranked Final Spor (#4) in Bursa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
