Regular Season Round 23: Bursaspor - Besiktas 98-87

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Besiktas (11-12) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Bursaspor (11-11) 98-87 on Sunday. Bursaspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Puerto Rican guard Gian Clavell (193-93, college: Colorado St.) helped adding 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Montenegrin Nemanja Djurisic (203-92, college: Georgia) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and American Toddrick Gotcher (190-93, college: Texas Tech, agency: Alti Sport) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Bursaspor. They moved-up to eighth place. Loser Besiktas dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Bursaspor will face league's leader Anadolu Efes in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Besiktas will play at home against Tofas (#5) and hope to win that game.
