There was an upset in Bursa where higher ranked Mamak (12-12) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Gemlik (8-16) 88-76 on Wednesday. Gemlik dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Mamak's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. The other American import forward Gary Johnson (201-88, college: Texas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88) who recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Nigerian-American power forward Lotanna Nwogbo (203-93, college: Longwood) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Gemlik maintains thirteenth position with 8-16 record. Loser Mamak keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Gemlik will face higher ranked Bandirma BK (#6) in Balikesir in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
