Top-ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (2-0) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (0-2) 80-77 on Tuesday evening. Strangely Deutsche Bank Skyliners outrebounded EnBW Ludwigsburg 35-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: MTSU, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and the other American import guard Jaleen Smith (193-94, college: UNH) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Lithuanian power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. EnBW Ludwigsburg maintains first position with 2-0 record, which they share with Ratiopharm and ALBA. Deutsche Bank Skyliners at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Crailsheim. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
