Regular Season Round 2: Besiktas - Fenerbahce 74-83

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce and Besiktas. Besiktas was defeated at home 74-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great shooting night for Fenerbahce especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Lorenzo Brown (196-90, college: NC State) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Czech center Jan Vesely (213-90) contributed with 9 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Fenerbahce's coach Igor Kokoskov used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Alperen Sengun (205-2) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and international Sehmus Hazer (190-99) added 18 points and 6 steals in the effort for Besiktas. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce will face Afyon Bld in Afyonkarahisar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Besiktas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Galatasaray.
