Regular Season Round 3: Celje - Grosbasket 74-33

Celje delivered the fourth consecutive victory. This time they crushed Grosbasket (1-2) 74-33. The game without a history. Celje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Grosbasket to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 11 points in second half. Celje dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Grosbasket's 26. Celje forced 27 Grosbasket turnovers and outrebounded them 51-28 including a 26-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Grosbasket's players. It was a good game for international Marusa Senicar (187-97) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Forward Jite Gbemuotor (188-4) contributed with 9 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Celje's coach Damir Grgic felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Eva Stefanoski (183-97) answered with 9 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Nika Kodelja (170-0) added 4 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Grosbasket. Celje will play against Jezica in Ljubljana in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Grosbasket will play at home against Ilrija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
