Regular Season Round 4: Rendsburg - Westerstede 68-75

Very predictable result when ninth ranked Westerstede (2-1) beat on the road bottom-ranked Rendsburg (0-4) 75-68 on Saturday. Rendsburg was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Arnold Fripp (201-93, college: Coppin St.) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Niklas Schmolke (192-0) chipped in 4 points and 15 rebounds. American-Nigerian forward Udun Osakue (198-92, college: SF State) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds and forward Henning Rixen (196-99) added 8 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Rendsburg's coach Bjarne Homfeldt tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Westerstede moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Stade and Cuxhaven. Loser Rendsburg still closes the standings with four games lost. Westerstede will face Stade (#6) on the road in the next round. Rendsburg will play against Vechta-2 (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
