Regular Season Round 4: Bergedorf - Goetting.ASC 58-121

Everything could happen in Hamburg at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Goetting.ASC and bottom-ranked Bergedorf had identical 0-3 record. But Bergedorf was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Goettingen 121-58 on Saturday night. Goetting.ASC dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Bergedorf's 28 and made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game, while Bergedorf only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded Bergedorf 34-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Goetting.ASC shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Center Nikolas Schultz (206-99) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds for the winners (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Point guard Daniel-Benjamin Borchers (185-97) chipped in 15 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. Jonah Wehrmeister produced 16 points and 5 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and Philipp Hassmann added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Goetting.ASC (1-3) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in North. It was Bergedorf's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Goetting.ASC will have a break next round. Bergedorf will play on the road against Neustadt TSV (#3) having rather not much hope for a victory.
