Not a big story in a game when Heroes were outscored by Akademie in Wuerzburg 100-52 on Sunday. Akademie dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Heroes' 26. Akademie forced 30 Heroes turnovers and outrebounded them 51-23 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Heroes' players. Elijah Ndi (194-4) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Yannick Mergler (201-2) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Akademie players scored in double figures. Jakob Frank (191-2) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Benjamin Pausch (180-4) added 10 points in the effort for Heroes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Akademie will have a break next round. Heroes will play against Loewen Bsk. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
