Very significant was Artland Dragons' 74-68 road victory against Lions. Artland Dragons forced 21 Lions turnovers. American Gerel Simmons (188-93, college: LMU) nailed 17 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Adrian Breitlauch (193-93) accounted for 16 points. Artland Dragons' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Tyseem Lyles (185-92, college: Mercy) came up with 17 points and the other American import point guard Greg Foster (190-89, college: SVSU) added 17 points respectively for Lions in the defeat. Artland Dragons will play against Gladiators in Trier in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lions will play on the road against Uni Baskets in Paderborn to get more than just one victory in their record.
