Regular Season Round 3: VK-Kamane - Alytaus 53-96

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of VK-Kamane (0-1) in Vilnius on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Alytaus (1-0) 96-53. Alytaus dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to VK-Kamane's 24. They outrebounded VK-Kamane 55-24 including a 46-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Alytaus looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by VK-Kamane's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Alytaus made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Justina Razukeviciute (173-95) who scored 17 points and 8 assists. Power forward Lina Grite (182-77) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Alytaus players scored in double figures. Alytaus' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Olga Fomina (164-89) who recorded 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Ina Jackevic (170-93) added 6 points and 4 assists respectively. Alytaus will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. VK-Kamane will play on the road against Vilniaus univ. (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
