Regular Season Round 1: Coracao R. - CB Queluz 91-80

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of CB Queluz on the court of Coracao on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Coracao 91-80. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to CB Queluz's 22. They outrebounded CB Queluz 47-29 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Ghanian swingman Adaku Anumu (190-92, college: Principia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Pedro Afonso (198-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Center Pedro Pereira (170-94) answered with 17 points and 8 assists and forward Afonso Candeias (190-2) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for CB Queluz. Five Coracao and four CB Queluz players scored in double figures. CB Queluz's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Coracao is looking forward to face Academia in Lisbon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. CB Queluz will play at home against Electrico FC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
