Regular Season Round 3: UBSC Graz - Oberwart 70-72

A very close game took place in Graz between Gunners Oberwart and UBSC Graz. Gunners Oberwart (1-2) got a very close victory on the road over UBSC Graz (1-2). Gunners Oberwart managed to escape with a 2-point win 72-70 in the game for the seventh place. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 17-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Gunners Oberwart looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Lithuanian guard Ignas Fiodorovas (196-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Sebastian Kaeferle (185-96) helped adding 10 points and 8 assists. Gunners Oberwart's coach Horst Leitner used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Stanley Whittaker (183-94, college: Keiser) with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Nick McGlynn (203-96, college: Drake) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four UBSC Graz players scored in double figures. Gunners Oberwart will meet at home Raiffeisen Flyers Wels in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UBSC Graz will play against Dukes (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
