Regular Season Round 2: Frankivsk - Rivne 66-58

Bottom-ranked Rivne (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 66-58 loss to fifth ranked Frankivsk (2-2) in Ivano-Frankivsk. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-14. But Rivne won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Arina Bilotserkivska (170-89) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 rebounds. Alona Samokhvalova (181-97) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Viktoriya Shmatova (172-87) replied with 21 points and 5 assists and center Tetiana Havrylchyk (193-0) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Rivne. Frankivsk moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Chaika. Rivne at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Vinnystkiye M. and Interkhim. Frankivsk will play against bottom-ranked Vinnystkiye M. (#8) in Vinnytsia in the next round. Rivne will play at home against the league's second-placed Kyiv Basket and hopes to get finally their first victory.
