Regular Season Round 3: Vienna - Klosterneuburg 76-87
Date: October 18, 2020
An exciting game was played in Vienna. Dukes faced BC Vienna. Guests from Klosterneuburg (3-0) defeated host BC Vienna (1-1) 87-76. It looked good early as BC Vienna took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dukes had a 31-13 second period charge getting the lead and BC Vienna was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-87. Dukes players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by BC Vienna's players. It was a good game for Bosnian center Edin Bavcic (209-84, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, college: John Brown, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Dukes' coach Damir Zeleznik allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Richaud Pack (192-92, college: Maryland) answered with 34 points (!!!) and point guard Mustafa Hassan-Zadeh (170-96) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BC Vienna. Five Dukes and four BC Vienna players scored in double figures. Dukes will play against UBSC Graz (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BC Vienna will play against Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen to get more than just one victory in their record.
