Very expected game in Istanbul where 9th ranked Mersin (1-3) was crushed by top-ranked Fenerbahce (4-0) 79-55 on Sunday. Fenerbahce outrebounded Mersin 34-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of German forward Satou Sabally (193-98, college: Oregon, agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Jasmine Thomas (175-89, college: Duke) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. At the losing side Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Goksen Fitik (175-1) scored 10 points. Mersin's coach Ceyhun Yildizoglu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fenerbahce have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Cankaya. Mersin lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. Fenerbahce will face Ormanspor (#8) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mersin will play at home against the league's leader Cankaya and hope to win that game.
