Regular Season Round 4: Ternopil-TNEU - Dnipro 70-83

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th ranked Ternopil-TNEU (3-2) was defeated at home by top-ranked Dnipro (3-0) 83-70. The game was mostly controlled by Dnipro. Ternopil-TNEU was better in fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dnipro dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ternopil-TNEU's 28. The winners were led by Anatoliy Shundel (191-93) who scored that evening 16 points and the former international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88) supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Five Dnipro players scored in double figures. Even 15 points by the former international swingman Oleksandr Kolchenko (195-88) did not help to save the game for Ternopil-TNEU. American forward Karrington Ward (201-93, college: EMU, agency: Players Group) added 7 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Dnipro have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Ternopil-TNEU dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Dnipro's next round opponent will be league's leader Kyiv Basket on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ternopil-TNEU will play against K.Sokoly (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
