The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Elchingen as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South-West South. Elchingen defeated bottom-ranked Tuebingen 2 at home 83-75. Elchingen forced 21 Tuebingen 2 turnovers. British guard Moses Byekwaso (190-97, college: USAO) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Yassin Mahfouz (194-93) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nico Hihn with 34 points (!!!) (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and Rouven Hanig produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tuebingen 2 at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with Ludwigsburg. Tuebingen 2 will play next round against strong Crailsheim 2 trying to get back on the winning streak. Elchingen will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Mannheim on the road.
