Regular Season Round 6: Duga Sabac - Radivoj Korac 59-69

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Duga Sabac (2-4) was defeated at home by top-ranked Radivoj Korac (6-0) 69-59 on Saturday. Radivoj Korac made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Duga Sabac turnovers and outrebounded them 43-23 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Sara Loomis (188-97, college: Ashland) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Marija Stojiljkovic (190-98) chipped in 18 points. Radivoj Korac's coach Zoran Akanovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Layne Murphy (185-94, college: Chicago St.) who recorded 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Renata Stepanovic (-87) added 16 points respectively. Radivoj Korac have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Crvena Zvezda. Newly promoted Duga Sabac dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Radivoj Korac's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd Crvena Zvezda.
