Regular Season Round 6: Hamm - Bonn 2 72-62

There was an upset when higher ranked Bonn 2 (2-4) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Hamm (1-5) 72-62 on Saturday. Hamm dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Bonn 2's 22. They outrebounded Bonn 2 43-23 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Darreon Tolliver (201-92, college: York, NE) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jason Fabek (190-0) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Hamm players scored in double figures. Hamm's coach Ivan Rosic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was Philipp Gruber (193-96) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Jonas Spychalski (189-98) scored 12 points. Hamm left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in West. It was Bonn 2's third loss in a row. Bonn 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Hamm will face higher ranked Grevenbroich (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
