Guifoes has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Galitos (0-5) 70-66 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American guard Rubin Taneka (178, college: FAMU) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Tylinn Carter (185-95, college: Pepperdine) chipped in 8 points and 14 rebounds. Taneka is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Brazilian guard Aruzha Michaski (166-92) produced 17 points and the former international swingman Daniela Domingues (176-92) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Four Galitos players scored in double figures. Guifoes (1-2) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Galitos' fifth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Guifoes will meet at home Olivais (#11) in the next round. Galitos will play against GDESSA and hope to get finally their first victory.
