Regular Season Round 5: Nord Dragonz - KOS 93-91

The most surprising game was the first loss of KOS (3-1) in Eisenstadt on Monday night. Visitors were edged by twelfth ranked Nord Dragonz (1-2) 93-91. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KOS. KOS was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 25-19 charge of Nord Dragonz, which allowed them to win the game. They shot 62.5 percent from the field. They also forced 19 KOS turnovers. Nord Dragonz looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Bosnian-Slovenian center Fuad Memcic (209-82, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and Croatian guard Petar Zivkovic (193-93) chipped in 17 points. Slovenian point guard Jernej Heine (191-0) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and Slovenian forward Ales Primc (201-79) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Nord Dragonz left bottom position moving up to ninth place. KOS at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Nord Dragonz are looking forward to face higher ranked Raiders Tirol (#6) in Innsbruck in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KOS will play at home against the league's second-placed Rocks and will have a slim chance for a victory.
