Regular Season Round 6: Budivelnyk - Mykolaiv 68-74

Mykolaiv has finally registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Kyiv, where they defeated Budivelnyk (1-4) 74-68 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Mykolaiv made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Darnell Edge (188, college: FDU) who scored 15 points and 8 assists. The other American import forward Nathan Adrian (206-95, college: WVU, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Zach Thomas (201-96, college: Bucknell) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Steven Burtt (189-84, college: Iona) added 15 points and 7 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mykolaiv left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Budivelnyk. Mykolaiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Budivelnyk will play against Cherkasy (#11) and hope to win that game.
