The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Schwabing as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South-East South. Schwabing smashed much higher ranked Bayern 3 at home 96-74. It was a key game for the top position in South-East South. Schwabing forced 25 Bayern 3 turnovers. Center Bent Leuchten (214-2) fired 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Lithuanian Emilis Butkus (197-3) chipped in 21 points. Four Schwabing players scored in double figures. Montenegrin point guard Amar Licina (180-4) produced 17 points and Christian Skladanowski (201-4) added 16 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Vilsbiburg. Bayern 3 at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with Unterhaching. Bayern 3 will play next round against strong Topstar trying to get back on the winning streak. Schwabing will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Unterhaching on the road.
