Regular Season Round 7: Aistes-LSMU - Kibirkstis 67-82

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Aistes-LSMU (3-1) in Kaunas on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Kibirkstis (3-0) 82-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aistes-LSMU. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was a great shooting night for Kibirkstis especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American-Mexican forward Jacqueline Luna-Castro (188-93, college: Charleston) fired 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Gabriele Sulske (175-90) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kibirkstis players scored in double figures. Kibirkstis' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Gabija Segzdaite (185-0) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and Karolina Kazociunaite (179-99) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Kibirkstis have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Aistes-LSMU at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. Kibirkstis are looking forward to face LCC Tarp. (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aistes-LSMU will play against Kibirkstis-VKM (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
