Regular Season Round 7: K.Sokoly - Khimik 78-85

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kharkiv, where higher ranked K.Sokoly (2-4) lost at home to tenth ranked Khimik (2-5) 78-85. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-20. But K.Sokoly won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by K.Sokoly helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Lewis Sullivan (201-95, college: UAB) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) accounted for 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Five Khimik players scored in double figures. Center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: MTSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Brandon Boggs (198-92, college: WCU, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for K.Sokoly in the defeat. Khimik moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Odessa. K.Sokoly lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. Khimik's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Cherkasy (#11) at home.
