Regular Season Round 7: Prometey - Kyiv Basket 71-81

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kamianske. Leader Kyiv Basket faced 3rd placed Prometey. Guests from Kyiv (8-0) defeated host Prometey (5-2) 81-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Prometey. The game was mostly controlled by Kyiv Basket. Prometey was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kyiv Basket brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Bogdan Bliznyuk (198-95, college: EWU) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Bruce Massey (190-90, college: MTSU) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. American forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: UMES, agency: Network Sports International) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Viacheslav Petrov (204-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Prometey. Kyiv Basket have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Prometey at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Zaporizhye. Kyiv Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kyiv Budivelnyk.
