Copenhagen can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Amager (1-6) 84-77 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Amager won third quarter 25-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Amager was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Patrick Burke (202-96, college: DBU) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Viktor Lorenzen (198-97, college: BMC) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Four Copenhagen players scored in double figures. Guard Oscar Quackenbush (187-99) produced 21 points and 4 assists and forward Magnus Bjornaa (194-96, college: Potomac St.) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Copenhagen (1-5) left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with BAC. Loser Amager dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Copenhagen will face Randers (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Amager will play against Naestved and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
