Regular Season Round 4: Horsholm - Amager 65-50

First defeat of league's leader Amager (2-1) against top-ranked Horsholm (3-0) 65-50 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Amager. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Amager managed to win fourth quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Amager to just 7 points in first quarter. Horsholm held Amager to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.5 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Amager 62-49 including a 48-32 advantage in defensive rebounds. Horsholm looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Gritt Ryder (173-92, college: Colorado St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Clara Busch (186-1) contributed with 6 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guard Julie Jungslund (165-98) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Anna Seilund (174-93, college: USF) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Amager. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Horsholm have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Amager at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Herlev. They were replaced at the leadership position by Horsholm. Amager will play next round against strong Aabyhoj trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Horsholm will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Herlev on the road.
