Regular Season Round 4: Art.Dragons - Rostock 64-86
Date: November 6, 2020
Very significant was Rostock's (#2) 22-point road victory against one of their biggest challengers Artland Dragons 86-64. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Rostock made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Strangely Artland Dragons outrebounded Rostock 35-21 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. The winners were led by Iranian Behnam Yakhchali (196-95) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 assists and naturalized American point guard Bradley Loesing (183-89, college: Wofford) supported him with 20 points. Even 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Adrian Breitlauch (193-93) did not help to save the game for Artland Dragons. American center Quadir Welton (204-95, college: St.Peter's) added 6 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rostock have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-1 record behind leader Bremerhaven. Artland Dragons at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Rostock will play against bottom-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (#15) in Allmendingen in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Artland Dragons will play at home against Uni Baskets (#7) and hope to get back on the winning track.
