Bottom-ranked Yalova is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to twelfth ranked Merkezefendi (2-2) 73-69 on Friday evening. Merkezefendi outrebounded Yalova 38-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. Yalova was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Bahamas center Dwight Coleby (206-94, college: WKU, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. American point guard Isiah Umipig (183-92, college: Seattle) contributed with 17 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Merkezefendi players scored in double figures. Guard Sercan Topcu (188-85) replied with 13 points and 5 assists and American center Mike Morrison (206-89, college: GMU) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Yalova. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Merkezefendi moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Gemlik and Manisa. Loser Yalova still closes the standings with three games lost. Merkezefendi will face Ankara Basket (#9) at home in the next round. Yalova will play against Akhisar Bld (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
