Regular Season Round 6: Timberwolves - Vienna 65-91

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vienna: BC Vienna (#5) and Timberwolves (#8). Timberwolves were smashed at home by 26 points 65-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by BC Vienna. Timberwolves managed to win third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game, while Timberwolves only scored five points from the stripe. BC Vienna looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Richaud Pack (192-92, college: Maryland) who scored 27 points and 5 assists. Point guard Mustafa Hassan-Zadeh (170-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Four BC Vienna players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Philipp DAngelo (198-89) who recorded 21 points and center Marko Goranovic (202-0) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Timberwolves' coach Hubert Schmidt gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. BC Vienna maintains fifth position with 3-2 record. Timberwolves lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with Oberwart. BC Vienna are looking forward to face Gunners Oberwart (#9) at home in the next round. Timberwolves will play against the league's leader Dukes in Klosterneuburg and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
