A very close game took place in Lisbon between Academia and CA Queluz. Third ranked Academia (2-1) got a very close home victory over one of their biggest challengers CA Queluz (1-2). Academia managed to escape with a 2-point win 70-68 in the fight for the third place. Academia outrebounded CA Queluz 55-37 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jeremias Manjate (203-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds and Angolan forward Benedito Suca (196-84) who added 15 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Felissanio Torres (192-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and center Tiago Pinto (187-88) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CA Queluz's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Academia maintains third position with 2-1 record behind leader Belenenses CF, which they share with Illiabum. Newly promoted CA Queluz keeps the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Academia will meet Olhanense (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. CA Queluz will play against Benfica B (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
