Regular Season Round 5: Tuebingen - Kirchheim 80-97

There was a small surprise in Tuebingen where twelfth ranked Kirchheim Knights (2-2) defeated 10th ranked Walter Tigers (1-2) 97-80 on Sunday. American Kyle Leufroy (190-96, college: Lehigh) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and Till Pape (204-97) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Kirchheim Knights' coach Igor Perovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized Cameroonian Roland Nyama (198-93, college: Stony Brook, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) responded with 24 points and center Daniel Keppeler (203-97, college: Regnitztal) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Kirchheim Knights and five Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Karlsruhe PS. Loser Walter Tigers dropped to the twelfth position with two games lost. Kirchheim Knights will meet Lions (#6) in the next round. Walter Tigers will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#15) in Allmendingen and hope to win that game.
