Regular Season Round 8: Ternopil-TNEU - Kyiv Basket 90-97

An interesting game for Kyiv Basket (9-0) which played road game in Ternopil against 3rd ranked Ternopil-TNEU (5-4). Top-ranked Kyiv Basket managed to get a 7-point victory 97-90. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ternopil-TNEU won third quarter 32-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by international Olexandr Mishula (192-92) who scored that evening 22 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American guard Brandon Young (193-91, college: DePaul) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 7 assists by American point guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) did not help to save the game for Ternopil-TNEU. Nigerian forward Avery Ugba (203-94, college: Austin Peay) added 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyiv Basket have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Newly promoted Ternopil-TNEU dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Kyiv Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ternopil-TNEU will play again against the league's leader Kyiv Basket (#1) and hope to secure a win.
