Regular Season Round 8: Krka - Zlatorog 111-57

Liga Nova KBM top team - Krka (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Zlatorog (2-5) in Novo Mesto 111-57. The game without a history. Krka led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zlatorog to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Krka made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Zlatorog turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Krka shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (186-86, agency: PEPI SPORT) supported him with 21 points. Five Krka players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by forward Matic Grusovnik (199-95) did not help to save the game for Zlatorog. Point guard Klemen Pozin (180-95) added 8 points and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Krka have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Loser Zlatorog keeps the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Hopsi Polzela. Krka will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zlatorog will play against Primorska (#4) and hope to secure a win.
