Regular Season Round 7: Klosterneuburg - Timberwolves 110-76

Date: November 12, 2020
BSL top team - Dukes (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Timberwolves (1-5) in Klosterneuburg 110-76. The game was mostly controlled by Dukes. Timberwolves was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Timberwolves 40-20 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dukes shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Timberwolves' players. It was a great evening for the former international guard Valentin Bauer (183-94, college: Mars Hill) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 9 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Luxembourg forward Alex Laurent (198-93) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Dukes players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bosnian forward Nemanja Nikolic (202-89) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and forward Philipp DAngelo (198-89) scored 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dukes have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Timberwolves lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Dukes will play against Gunners Oberwart (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Timberwolves will play against Arkadia Lions and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
