Regular Season Round 8: Tofas - OGM Orman 99-82

Everything could happen in Bursa at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Tofas and 9th ranked OGM Orman had identical 3-4 record. This time Tofas used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Ankara 99-82. Tofas players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Trinidad and Tobago-American Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) who scored 25 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international Berkan Durmaz (206-97) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 assists and his fellow American import forward Stanton Kidd (202-92, college: Colorado St.) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Tofas (4-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Afyon and Petkim. Newly promoted OGM Orman dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Tofas' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Besiktas (#16) in Istanbul and are hoping to win another game. OGM Orman will play at home against Dacka (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
